My piece of equipment that the VOLTRA revived was the titan fitness plate loaded leg extension/curl machine. We all know the inherent issues with these machines and the uneven resistance profile. I did still use this before buying the voltra 4 months ago, however I was looking at a plate loaded leg extension/curl machine. Which could be bigger footprint and definitely more dollars. 

With the voltra, I now get constant resistance or I can change the resistance to how I want it with the modes. The setup was pretty easy. 

Pretty happy with how it turned out. Mainly a rowing and belt squat station.

This is my small basement setup — just under 300 sq ft (a little over 250 usable), low ceiling, exposed joists/pipes, and even a support post… so the layout had to be intentional.

I posted something like this in the Home Gym Discord a little while back and figured I’d share it here as well.

So awhile back I saw Bulletproof Fitness’ Versa Arms and Push N Pull Arms and really liked the idea. Then online during the Arnold Classic I also saw clips of Panatta’s Total Chest and Total Back machines, and later Mega Mass’ Xpload Chest Press and Linear Row. I figured it would be pretty simple to combine all of them into 1.

It was surprisingly simple. I have no experience in CAD or engineering. Most of it was just copying dimensions and hole spacing from Linear Guide rail Instruction book which took me about 30 mins. I had most of the parts already but it was relatively inexpensive. A friend of mine owns a company that has laser cutting and bending but you could just as easily use send cut send or an alternative.

Bought the Vesta platform on sale. Really want the oak club but couldn't justify another $1000 after I just bought a voltra and some mounts.

Had a custom crossmember made according to the measurement between the legs. and put some bolts i had lying around through to hold it in place. Added a voltramounts.com mount. Very decent belt squat platform. Great for biceps too.

I put a couple kettlebells on the foot plate for dips and pull ups and its pretty perfect. Whole thing cost me under $400. Not including the mount which i use on my rack as well. The holes are an odd size on the vesta, but with some washers and locking nuts its very stable with 5/8th hardware.

Just another idea if anyone is looking for something.

I know this has been a popular question on this thread, so I thought I’d suggest a solution and hopefully spur some additional ideas. Initially I had hoped to do cable flies with a single Voltra on fringe’s gibbon arms, which now do little more than getting in my way at the moment (the angle for entry is too harsh into the arms and the friction from the cable’s entry makes the exercise useless, and I’ve already emailed fringe and rep to see if I can purchase pulleys that go up and over my uprights).

The idea was inspired by a combination of what I’ve seen with bullet pulley and with total gyms, big shout out to hybrid resistance for getting me onto those!

The exercise using the one carabiner and 2 cables feels great, but a version of this with a center floating pulley feels even better, especially with a little eccentric overload. Lat pull downs also feel awesome, although I wish I could do it on the gibbon arms to make it a little more precise.

Single upright from REP (5000) Lat accessory from BP

Bolted to the stud.

I wanted to get a couple of extra inches for lat pulls while using my Voltra, but the $179 dollar price tag from Beyond Power was just too much for me to justify. The alternatives from Black Widow and Irwin Fitness weren't much cheaper.

The Storage Feet from Rep Fitness, however, looked like they'd work if I just flipped it upside down. And it does. It adds about 8 inches from the top of the upright to the top of foot and features a slot where you can easily connect two bolts to attach it to your upright. I get full ROM and then some with this set-up.

Full disclosure that I own Darko Lifting and a lot of the products used in the video are the ones we sell.

Using the Auto Load and Auto Unload(11 Reps) I set this up across my Rogue rack using a QuickMount. I use one of our Shorty Bars paired with our D-Nade handles to split the upright in front of me. I use our Thresher as a chest supported pad and this allows me to sit back a bit from the upright so my face isn't right against it.

Beyond Power Sliding Mount on the mini rack with various attachments for most movements.

Vesta footplate and bench for row work (I could do this sitting on the ground too)

Mutant metals 18” handle with bar mount for lat pull downs and overhead work using the Rep Pegasus. Helps me get as high as I can with my low ceiling.

Same handle and bar mount with squat harness v4 and blocks for leg work (waiting on some DC blacks for increased ROM). I use the Rep Pegasus leg rollers for split squats. Pegasus seat for chest supported rows too.

Bench sat up for back supported crunches and cable presses.

This isn’t a budget build but rather trying to optimize space as I use the workshop for other projects and storage.

I have 3 selectorized machines that I have voltra-fied. I just stitched them all together in 1 video - I recorded a couple of reps of each movement (none at working weight since today is meant to be rest day), and after each exercise, I also show 1 or 2 pictures of where the voltras are mounted to show the setup as well. Hopefully that will avoid making my write up super long, but LMK if there are any setup questions.

I run a physiotherapy clinic and strength & conditioning studio, working primarily with athletes in return-to-sport setting. Each year, I work with around 30-40 athletes after ACL injuries and meniscus repairs, guiding them from early rehab all the way back to full sport.

Most of my clients come from football (soccer), Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA, boxing, and other high-demand sports where both force and rate of force development are critical.

For me, VOLTRA’s isometric mode is a decision-making tool.

Someone asked for some example smith moves using my 2x Voltra, here it is. I’m using Eve Company Eye Of Fate on the bar and mounting the Voltra below and connect the carabiner to it. I also placed some magnetic plate mounts on the Eye of fate just to keep it firmly in place. The bar is a short rackable Midas Mini bar from Fringe as it doesn’t need to be long to connect — hope someone comes up with a bar just for voltra connecting as you don’t need a long bar. This one is 35lbs and with the smith base it’s 51lbs unloaded. I add weight to 51lbs using the Voltra. Note I load it in low position then extend it higher, then direct load on the Voltra so I can start at the top.

Also you can do many more moves like Calf Raises, deficit rows on a platform, high incline press, etc

I have been training people for 18 years and the @beyondpowerofficial Voltra 1 might be my new favorite training tool. It has a list of amazing capabilities and features, but the ability to take it anywhere and attach it to virtually anything is what makes this amazing tool so valuable to me.

I love my Voltra, but I can't justify two at the moment. The only real "limitation" I've run into with a single unit is the ability to do chest work. I've been doing flyes (high, mid, and low) with this set up for a while now and I've had no issues. I've tried searching around for others doing something similar and I haven't been able to find anything. Despite being able to see some wiggle in the video, this set up has been suprisingly sturdy/balanced when performing the exercises. This is performed with what is essentially a shorty bar and two 29" lengths of cable. The shorty bar weights 2lbs. Same could be done with a wider adjustable lat pull down system, but I figured that would be more unstable (and heavier) and the width hasn't been a problem so far.

Got this idea from a Brian Shaw video where he used his Voltra on a road trip by mounting it to the grille of his truck. Having used the Voltra with my previous 2x2 rack, it occurred to me that I could use some 2x2 square tubing as a hitch mount if I drilled the holes to fit my Adaptive Rack Mount.

Still need to paint it and print out some custom 3DP tube ends, but otherwise it's a fully functioning prototype.

P.S. Technically it doesn't use the DIY Dock, but hopefully that doesn't exclude it from consideration for this contest. 😅

I am a personal trainer who works with a really wide age range (14 to 83 currently) who have an equally wide range of goals (everything from strength to longevity to rehab). I’ve started using isometric mode on my Voltra as both a testing tool and a training tool, and it’s become one of the most valuable features I use EVERY week.

I’ve got a Body Solid G Row — the kind designed to roll up next to a functional trainer so you can use it as a cable rower. The idea is cool, but I didn’t want to be stuck in the corner of my apartment where my other Beyond Power mounts are (seen on the wall of the first photo). I wanted to be able to set it up wherever.

So I contacted Anthony at https://www.abcustomz.com/ and had him weld a custom mount using the Beyond Power DIY Dock hardware. We laid out the plan in about 30 minutes to work out the geometry and positioning. Later that day he sent me the CAD draft and it looked awesome. It took him another day or two of work and I brought it home. He did a fantastic job, and it works great.

Now I’ve got a rowing setup with the Voltra that I can use anywhere in my space — not just where the wall mounts are.

Real-world use outside the gym

Figured I’d share this as I haven’t seen many talking about ways to do dual arm exercises with a single unit.

I definitely want to get a second unit, but at this point I’m struggling to justify it.

With a pulley, I can go plenty heavy on my leg days (for now).

I finished building my Rack and flooring. Today was the first workout in my new home gym. As Attachments i have two sliding mounts 3x3 on my uprights, 2 fixed rack mounts on the floor under the belt squat machine and one fixed rack mount on the floor under my reverse hyper. That leaves me with one fixed rack mount remaining, but i am not sure, yet, if i miss something.

The four mount, Olympus I ordered from EVE company arrived over the weekend. I had a lot of fun trying some RDLs and chest flies and presses. Looking forward to trying some chest supported rows next workout.

Anybody got any ideas or suggestions feel free to share! Especially twin mode suggestions !

The mount Olympus is pretty heavy but easy enough to move around and feels super sturdy. It’s a game changer in small spaces if anybody is in a similar situation (apartment living )

I was trying to come up with a 4th exercise to use for the Norwegian 4X4. ChatGPT recommended rowing an addition to the other exercises I came up with. I thought about rowing with the Voltra 1. I decided to try using an ab roller with a pad for the seat and the seat on the Rep Pegasus for a foot plate and will add a foot strap later. I used damper mode at a fairly high setting. Honestly, I didn’t expect this to work, but if felt exactly like a rowing machine. I was able to quickly hit my target heart rate.

These Voltras are amazingly flexible.

Long time lurker, first time poster…

On vacation with the Voltra for the first time and there’s not many places to mount it, but I found a good spot in our house’s front yard today. Maybe tomorrow we’ll see if we can find one by the beach and try that out…

This is teaching me to use what you’ve got and find a spot that’s comfortable and fun to workout. No fancy rack today. No other weights to supplement. Zero regrets buying this thing.

old footage I forgot to post here! was playing around with my upholstered gym table (some call it a ghd/rh) and had the idea to try this. works very well, especially with a front squat harness.

Voltra 1 nomad bundle plus diy mount with baseplate, a nordic curl strap (also used for lat pulldowns), the Squat harness, a foldable bench and a yoga mat.

I also bought a strap mount for outdoor/ travel use.

The bench can be placed on the Travel platform to do chest and other bilateral exercises with one single unit. I quit my gym membership as i can efficiently do my full body workouts including my favourite compound movements. Since I am a beginner/ intermediate it will take long to max it out and then i can use pulley hacks or one arm/leg exercises too.

Even though the voltra is even more expensive in Europe this is one of the most favourite purchases i ever made. I hope the device will last long time and i can‘t wait for competitors, the tech and digital resistance becoming more mainstream.

Just got my VOLTRAs this week, but I could immediately tell that I really wanted a quicker/easier way to differentiate the two - serial number was a huge pain - so I got some red/blue silicone grip tape and renamed my VOLTRAs "Red" and "Blue" respectively.

Made a couple of quick logo images to really drive it all home. Backgrounds attached in case anyone finds doing a similar thing useful!

Currently in a rental where I don’t want to damage anything and also don’t want to have to move a full rack when we leave. The setup uses the darko mount and bar mount on a Bulletproof solo stand with an infinity arm.

I’m able to hit every main movement with this + the travel board (out of frame). The additional side legs help with quad extensions/hamstring curls combined with the infinity arm.

I am able to “bench” to 400 by using the bar mount + carabiner pulley + spreader bar + climbing slings. I do so by facing the floor and using the infinity arm to keep me from coming off the ground (think upside down bench).

I set this up just now. Beyond Power 80” Mini Rack with four Vendetta Brackets, including one to raise the height of the mini rack. I just tested the Volta with a couple of Lat Pull downs and lucky enough I can just get full ROM while sitting on my bench. I have a Fixed Rack Mount Mini on order to install at the top of the mini rack. Let the fun begin!

I had the bench, dumbbells, and pull-up bar but was really missing all the cable pull exercises. So I had been looking for a compact cable machine for a while but nothing seemed right for this space. Enter the Voltra and I’ve been super happy. And once I started using eccentric loading and chains on the Voltra I’ve been using the dumbbells less and less.

• 50 sq ft of Voltra + Weights
• 50 sq ft of Cardio
• 25 sq ft of Vitruvian

Floor to ceiling Voltra, wall storage for accessories, and Vitruvian for heavy lifts from the floor since I can’t bolt down my rack (2nd floor bedroom).

I think I’ve officially got my travel gym to a place where I can get a consistent workout no matter where I am.

Added the wings this week with a few extra pieces more handy for storage than anything but more mounting points are always better

mounted the voltra to my ladder which is ratchet strapped to the roof. worked great for pull down movements like sitting lat pulldowns

This is my cobbled together set up in a small office off my garage. I started out with Powerblocks and a bench while my wife has a Peleton. I then got adjustable kettlebells and a full metal Swedish ladder for pull-ups, dips, and abs.

So my solution is pictured; I purchased a set ofsquat standsthat are small enough so that one of them will fit in my closet with the doors closed. This paired with an Adaptive Rack Mount, a foldable bench, and handful of attachments has been my new workout setup and it's been awesome. Still in the early stages, so I haven't figured out how to do everything yet, but I'm loving it overall......

I just finished installing a Beyond Power Mini Rack and wanted to write this up in case it helps someone else. This install does NOT go into studs. It uses a wood stringer mounted over drywall to handle the load correctly.
