Two Years of VOLTRA I

We Invented a New Species of Resistance.

You know the options: weights, bands, bulky machines with plates and screens. But you wanted something that didn't exist yet.
At Beyond Power, athlete-turned-engineers obsessed with better products envisioned a new species of resistance—a sleek, compact device that extracts insight from each rep. Something that grows with you, becoming more intelligent with each upgrade.
Over 100 patents, 300+ proprietary precision components, and dozens of iterations later, we brought VOLTRA I to life.
Elite training methods once exclusive to million-dollar facilities now run on a single intelligent system. Eccentric overload, variable resistance, isokinetic training and more... What previously required entire equipment rooms, VOLTRA I delivers in one device.
VOLTRA I redefined what's possible in resistance training technology.

Resistance by You, for You
In March 2025, we opened our proprietary mounting system through the DIY Dock. This community collaboration allows users to create custom mounting solutions.
The community has designed setups for unconventional spaces, specialized training applications, and unique mounting challenges. These user-generated solutions often become the basis for our next official accessories.
We listen across every channel. Reddit discussions influence firmware updates. Customer emails drive hardware development. Your Instagram videos show us new use cases. We love receiving mini essays that illustrate how you're using VOLTRA I, suggest improvements, or call out what we can do better. We take everything to heart.
When you discover better ways to take Beyond Power on your journey, we all win.
Snapshots from Every Training Ground
Note:
This is a letter from Steve Cronin, one of the very first to get hands on VOLTRA in early 2024.
If any prospective customers are on the fence about purchasing your Voltra I, they shouldn’t be. After a year and a half of daily use between me and my three sons aged 19-24 (and their friends often working out with them), I can say without reservation that it has far exceeded our expectations. It has become the single most used and versatile piece of equipment I own, by a wide margin.
What continues to amaze me is that this is a first-generation product that already feels like a mature, late-generation design. The attention to detail, the thoughtfulness in engineering, and the overall user experience is unlike anything I’ve encountered, not just in gym equipment, but in equipment of any kind. Every component, down to the accessories, is overbuilt and overengineered in the best possible way. It’s not inexpensive but this is a case of getting what you paid for and if you consider how much equipment it can legitimately replace without compromise, it’s a bargain. Beyond Power isn’t chasing rapid expansion or a broad product line; they are laser-focused on making their flagship release overperform, and it shows. Their customer support reflects the same philosophy: responsive, engaged, and genuinely listening to user feedback.
For context, I’ve owned two Voltra I’s since March 2024, and before that, I cycled through more than 30 pieces of commercial-grade gym equipment; plate-loaded and selectorized. At one point, I had 15 different machines in a 20x20 training space, alongside my Rogue Monster rack, including a 700lb Rogue CT-1 single stack and the Rogue Lat Pulldown. I sold both of those and today, I’m down to just six core pieces because the Voltra units cover everything else more effectively, using simple attachment points around my rack.
And here’s the kicker: this is something roughly the size of a loaf of bread that outperforms a $3,500 Rogue CT-1 single stack and all of those other pieces, not just in resistance, but in sheer functionality. The comparison isn’t even close. The adaptability and range of exercises possible with Voltra is staggering, and having two units multiplies that usefulness even further.
From a reliability perspective, how has it held up under daily use? I purchased cable replacement kits for both Voltras at least six months ago (which were reasonably priced) but the cables are still in good shape and not in need of replacement yet. These units are in an insulated but not temperature-controlled garage with the temp fluctuating from the mid-90s to freezing in the ~18 months I’ve owned them and the batteries haven’t measurably degraded in this environment at all.
Are there any cons, do I have any criticism? I have none. Others have complained about the cost. The reality is you don’t need many pieces of equipment if you own these. If you own these pieces, you can confidently sell them as the Voltra will do it better. If you were planning on buying them, don’t and you’ve saved a big chunk of cash even after buying one or two Voltras. A few have commented about the feel of this cable, that it feels different than a cable stack. It does feel slightly different than a cable machine because you don’t have momentum and gravity influencing the motion of the cable but to me, this feels superior, as it is more consistent and you can’t cheat with momentum (and you can adjust the strength curve to your hearts content) and have safety features and assists available if needed. It could be argued that there could be more variety in accessories but especially in the last 6 months several companies are stepping in to fill this gap (Darko, Eve Company and others) enabled by the DIY Dock.
In short, I know it sounds like marketing hyperbole, but my two Voltra I units have completely redefined what I thought was possible in a garage gym setup. It’s compact, versatile, and engineered with a level of thoughtfulness and care that most companies aren’t capable of achieving. It has eliminated tens of thousands of dollars of gym equipment, freed up space in my garage gym and had made my (and my son’s training) far more effective than it was without them.
Thank you!
